Social Studies Teachers

Ms. Brianna Pemble

US Studies

My name is Brianna Pemble, and I am honored to be your 8th Grade Honors US History teacher. I was born and raised in northern Wisconsin, with a few years spent in southern Florida. I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received my B.A. in Communication Arts - Communication Science and Rhetorical Studies, along with certificates in Digital Media Studies, Gender & Women's Studies, and African American Studies. I then moved to Dallas in 2018 and worked in marketing and advertising before attending Southern Methodist University and receiving my Master of Education with a focus on gifted education. It was during my time at SMU that I was assigned to TAG in PG and quickly fell in love. I am so thankful to be returning for to TAG in PG for my fourth year in a row! When I am not at school, I am usually at home in downtown Dallas with my partner, Jordon, and my two rescue cats, Malcolm and Estrella. I enjoy good food, being outside, traveling, and spending time with my family.

Mrs. Patricia Cortez

Texas Studies Dual Language

Hello! I’m Mrs. Patricia Cortez, a proud DISD alumni teaching seventh-grade Texas history at the School for the Talented and Gifted in Pleasant Grove. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and am a proud product of Dallas ISD.

After my journey through the Dallas ISD school system as a student, I attended The University of Texas at Arlington and received my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Bilingual Education Certification in Early Childhood through 6th grade. I also attended Texas Tech University where I received my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a Graduate Certificate in Personalized Learning Methods.

I began my career teaching at the very school I attended as a child, and now as a teacher at STAG, I draw on my experiences as a former magnet school student to inspire my own students to reach their full potential and to dream big. From DISD student to DISD teacher, my journey has come full circle, and I’m passionate about giving back to the community that shaped me.

Mrs. Laura Guerrero-Gasko

Spanish

I am thrilled to be part of TAG-PG and look forward to an exciting year! I was born in Monterrey, NL, Mexico and was raised in San Antonio, Texas. I have a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Education. Over the course of my career, I have taught elementary bilingual education through high school Spanish. I have a deep appreciation for the richness of the Spanish-speaking world and my goal is to inspire students to develop a broader perspective of the world around them.
