Ms. Elizabeth Contreras
My name is Elizabeth Contreras, and I’m a proud first-generation Mexican-American from Oak Cliff. I am a product of Dallas ISD, having attended Margaret B. Henderson Elementary, W.E. Greiner Exploratory Arts Academy, and the High School of Health Professions at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center. After earning my degree in Child Bilingual Studies from UT Arlington, I taught in several Texas districts, including Arlington, Plano, and Richardson ISD, before discovering my true passion for counseling. That’s when I decided to shift my career to school counseling, so I could better support students and families in our community.
As a counselor, I aim to build trusting relationships with my students, their families, and teachers, offering the support and encouragement they need to thrive. My work focuses on the four key components of counseling:
Guidance Curriculum: Helping students discover their full potential.
Responsive Services: Stepping in when students face personal challenges.
Individual Academic Planning: Guiding students as they plan their educational and personal growth.
System Support: Supporting teachers, staff, and families in promoting student success.
I’m here to help, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns about your child’s well-being or success!
