Administration
Mr. Jonathon Pegues
Jonathon started his educational career by receiving his bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi in December of 2009. He began teaching in the classroom the following January of 2010. His goal was to remain in the classroom for 10 years and to gain experience with different grade levels, and he did just that.
Since 2010, Jonathon has worked in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5. In his 9th year of teaching, he obtained his master's degree in educational leadership from the Southern Methodist University.
He worked as an instructional coach for one year until he transitioned to an assistant principal role in 2020 for Solar Preparatory School for Boys in Dallas ISD. He worked as the assistant principal for 4 years performing multiple functions, owning different responsibilities, and acquiring the necessary skills to grow as a school leader.
He proudly and humbly accepts the position as assistant principal at STAG in PG and looks forward to growing and developing teachers and students.
Mr. Victor Garcia
I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the newest member of The School for the Talented and Gifted in Pleasant Grove. This year, I will be serving as the Lead Teacher.
Born and raised in Spain, I hold a Master's degree in English Studies (Filología Inglesa) from the Universidad de Valladolid and a degree in Education (CAP) from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. With 12 years of experience teaching Spanish Literature, morphology, grammar, and syntax at the high school level, I moved to the U.S., where I’ve spent the past 10 years teaching grades 3-6 in the Dallas Independent School District. I also had the honor of founding the first hybrid school in the state of Texas, where I spent the last three years as both an educator and Demonstration Teacher.
Outside of the classroom, I’m passionate about playing sports like tennis and golf. I love traveling, meeting new people, and discovering different places. Reading is another favorite pastime, and for many years, I’ve enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to pop/rock music.
Looking ahead, one of my key goals is to pursue a Master's degree in Leadership. I firmly believe that every child has incredible potential, and as educators, it’s our duty to help them unlock that potential and achieve their highest level of excellence—because here at STAG, we fly high!
